HONOUR: Cooper Cronk says playing

Cooper Cronk says playing for Australia is a great honour and he
won't consider Friday's rugby league test a welcome distraction
from his club's salary cap turmoil.

Cronk and his Kangaroos teammates assembled in Melbourne
on Monday ahead of the Anzac test against New Zealand.

The match will be the first ever played at the city's new rectangular
stadium, AAMI Park, and is expected to be close to a sell-out.

Selected to replace injured incumbent Johnathan Thurston at
halfback, Cronk is one of four Melbourne players in the side along
with Cameron Smith, Greg Inglis and Billy Slater.

Cronk said there was no ill-feeling from other Australian players
toward their Melbourne teammates as investigations continue
after their club was punished by the NRL for long-term salary cap rorting.

"What preceded this doesn't really count for much," Cronk said.

"When you represent your country everything's about wearing the
green and gold."

The Kangaroos' four Storm players have been in good form
as their club won both their NRL games since being stripped
of two premiership titles and banned from playing for competition
points in 2010.

And Cronk said calling the test match a welcome distraction
from the turmoil at the Storm would be disrespectful.

"I wouldn't use it as a distraction at all," he said.

"When you represent your country, to call it that doesn't give
the jersey or the feelings or emotions and everything that comes with it."
